Here is a wonderful 1989 Porsche 911 3.2 with the favourite 491 option code aka the Works Turbo Look. Essentially this is a Porsche 911 3.2 with 911Turbo looks. It is an original Dutch supplied car. There were 1,128 491 option code examples sold. Most went to the States with only 5 ending up in Holland.
So what does a 491 option code mean? The car was fitted with different front wings and the full Turbo rear including exhaust, Turbo wheel base, Turbo rims, Turbo brakes, Turbo front spoiler and Turbo stabilising rods. There is nothing else missing off this Porsche 911 as it has a rear windscreen wiper, electrically adjustable, heated seats, air conditioning and sunroof.
The bodywork looks great. Its correctly aligned panelwork is nice and thin. The cosmetically resprayed black paintwork is in very good condition. The Fuchs rims look great and the rear spoiler rubber is in very good condition.
The interior has been meticulously maintained and looks a treat. The black carpets are in unison with with black leather trim. It also has a fine three-spoke sports steering wheel, electrically operated
sunroof and windows. The dashboard is pure functionality and very well organised. All the instruments and controls are in great shape and all work to order.
The state of this car’s mechanicals cannot be otherwise described than being topnotch. The relatively low mileage together with good maintenance meant the engine has never needed to be rebuilt. The 3.2 boxer engine develops 231 Ps and sounds fantastic due to the fitted Cargraphic naturally aspired air filter. The engine is attached to the favoured G50 5-speed manual transmission which works perfectly. The excellent condition of its brakes and suspension contribute in no small way to the cars’ fantastic driving characteristics. The 911 Turbo wheel base and rims practically allows this Porsche 911 to take bends at acute angles. There is nothing better at gripping the tarmac on public roads. It is a real feast to try this Porsche 911 to the max.
A wonderful 911 Works Turbo Look that currently is very much in favour. This is a rare edition of the 911 that real Porsche lovers are starting to appreciate more and more, a trend that yet to peak.
