In 1909, H.F.S. (for Henry Frederick Stanley) Morgan created the Morgan Motor Company to build in small series a powerful three-wheeled vehicle of his own design. This was the great era of cyclecars and tricyclecars, very light vehicles powered for the most part by motorbike engines, inexpensive to manufacture and which democratised the automobile. In the mid-1930s, H.F.S Morgan launched a series of slightly more conventional sports cars (the first 4/4s for Four-Four), while continuing to produce 3-wheelers until the Second World War (and on order until 1952!). In 2011, Charles Morgan, his grandson, presented a new 3-Wheeler at the Geneva Motor Show, based on the historic version, with an apparent V-twin engine, this time with a capacity of 2 litres, produced by the American company S&S, and a 5-speed gearbox borrowed from the Mazda MX-5 NC. This modern tricyclecar is highly customisable and has been a great success with over 2,500 sold in 10 years.
While Morgan has just announced the end of this first version of the 3-Wheeler, we are offering you the rare opportunity to acquire a very nice example, with very low mileage (12,700 miles) and a track record (logbook stamped to 10,274 miles). Sold new in the UK in 2016, and therefore fitted with right-hand drive, like the "vintage" Morgans, it was imported and registered in France in 2017 (and fitted at that time with Brooklands aeroscreens), and purchased by its current owner in the summer of 2019. The hyper fun and easy going machine is a real sensation and comes in a lovely Land Rover Graphite Blue livery with a beautiful brown leather interior. It is equipped with an optional tonneau cover, an immobiliser and heated seats that will allow you to enjoy this 3-wheeler in all seasons.
This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on June the 20th, 2021.
