It's a challenge to find another classic with the same ionic design over so many years of production. It's been six decades since Land Rover updated the recipe for its utility called Defender today. This is the Land Rover Series I, the foundation of what would become more than 60 years of an off-road icon.

Originally, the Land Rover only had one model, which from 1948 to 1951 featured an 80-inch (2.03 m) wheelbase and a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with about 50 hp. The four-speed gearbox from the Rover P3 was used, coupled with a two-speed transfer gearbox, incorporating an unusual, “free-wheeling” four-wheel drive system (as used in several Rover cars of the time).

This is a Series I from 1951, fully restored and in immaculate condition.
