BENTLEY MKK VI OPEN SPORTS TOURER
Particularly beautiful and with an eye for detail by Coach builder: Racing Green Engineering Ltd. in South Wales, rebuilt to an Open Sports Tourer.
The body is built on a totally renovated 1951 Bentley MK VI chassis, which was fitted with an 8 cylinder Rolls Royce/Bentley B80 block.
The “Nut & Bolt” restoration includes: new tourer body with an aluminum clad frame made of ash wood, chrome parts and the electrical completely newly installed.
Experts from the Bentley Drivers Club Ltd. have checked and agreed everything concerning the originality of the car and its parts, which was stated in an official letter to Mr Peris Edwards of Racing Green Engineering Ltd. was confirmed on February 24, 2014.
Aftersales Department of Bentley Motors Ltd has issued a Certificate of Construction & Technical Specification of the originally delivered Bentley Mark VI, the chassis of which has been used for this Open Sports Tourer.
The car has already had approvals in the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany, which will simplify re-inspections in the event of an export.
BODY
The impressive bodywork consists of a beautiful frame of impregnated ash wood with aluminum panels padded and covered with rexine in a green color, completely matching the dark green front of the Bentley.
Black Double duck folding hood and a black tonneau cover that fits completely over the open part. All chrome work perfectly renewed. Everything in top condition.
INTERIOR
The beautiful high quality dark green leather upholstery reflects the craftsmanship put into this car. The beautifully shaped Bucket Seats, with heated seats, for driver and co-driver and the generous rear seat together with the identical leather upholstery on the panels and the firmly lined carpets complete the interior in perfection.
ENGINE
The Bentley B80 engine is an 8 cylinder in-line engine with overhead intake and exhaust valves, dry sump lubrication system with separate oil filter. The cubic capacity is 5,675 cc.
COOLING SYSTEM
Pressurized cooling system with a 5 blade 16” V-belt driven cooling fan.
FUEL SYSTEM
The 4 SU carburettors of the type H.6 are mounted on a polished aluminum intake manifold and provide the powerful engine with the necessary fuel. The fuel pump can be switched on as desired; a mechanical pump driven by the engine or by two electric petrol pumps. The grid-frame protected fuel tank holds 25 gallons (approx. 114 liters).
EXHAUST SYSTEM
The stainless steel exhaust system has a large bore directly to the mufflers.
CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION
Single dry plate, heavy duty.
Bentley four speed and reverse with synchromesh on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear.
Gear ratios: 1st - 2.98 : 1, 2nd - 2.02 : 1, 3rd - 1.34 : 1, 4th - Direct. Reverse - 3.15
High Ratio Crown Wheel and Pinion for getting a higher ratio.
SUSPENSION
Totally improved suspension system both at the front and at the rear.
STEERING SYSTEM
Cam & roller steering system, ratio 15.25:1. 18” Bentley steering wheel.
BRAKE SYSTEM
Hydraulic drum brakes, front. Mechanical drum brakes, rear assisted by a mechanically driven servo. Improved brake linings, additional cooling slots on the front brakes.
WHEELS AND TIRES
Black painted 21” spoke rims fitted with 21 x 7.00 Blockley tires. Chromed Knock on spinners.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The Bentley is equipped with a 12V installation with a negative ground. The battery is located under the floor compartment and the safety switch in the rear cargo area.
Charging is done via an improved 12V alternator.
The Lucas P100 headlights have 55/65w halogen lighting. In addition, Cibie "long range driving" lamps have also been fitted with 55/65w halogen lighting. Stone chip protection mesh is mounted on all headlights.
The direction indicators are discreetly integrated into the whole.
INSTRUMENTS
The instruments are mounted in a beautifully hammered aluminum panel and all gauges date from the original period.

Die Karosserie ist auf einem komplett renovierten Bentley MK VI-Chassis von 1951 aufgebaut, das mit einem 8-Zylinder-Rolls-Royce/Bentley-B80-Block ausgestattet war.
Die „Nut & Bolt“-Restaurierung beinhaltet: neue Tourer-Karosserie mit aluverkleidetem Rahmen aus Eschenholz, Chromteile und die Elektrik komplett neu eingebaut.
