Description
Meet the Jaguar XJS, one of the rarest hand-built models at JaguarSport in Bloxham, the high-tech factory that housed the production of the XJ220. Launched in 1988, JaguarSport was a 50/50 joint venture between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw's TWR, a relationship that began with the famous TWR-ready XJS that dominated touring cars in the 1980s.
At the time, the JaguarSport XJR-S may have looked similar to its production counterparts, but it showcased many parts unique to the model and, of course, the 333hp 6.0-liter V12 engine. A modified intake system and a high-efficiency true dual exhaust system were part of the car's advanced specification. The suspension was developed by TWR with Bilstein shock absorbers, front and rear, specially tuned for this model. From an exterior point of view, the cars were modified with a subtly aggressive body kit and a number of interior modifications included a Connolly leather interior.
This XJR-S is in good condition and is one of only 700 produced, which automatically gives it collectible status.
